The total area of this country with traces of 5,000 years old life is 316 square kilometers. And this country comes at 187 in terms of its area around the world. If we talk about European countries, this country comes at 45 in terms of area. The country, which has an attractive tourist destination, consists of three beautiful islands between Italy and Libya in the Mediterranean Sea. Malta ranks eighth among the top ten countries with the most dense population in the world. The total population of this country was estimated at 407,000 in 2017. And in terms of population, this country was number 175 throughout the day. Numerous governments raised their flags on this small country.

History of Malta

If we talk about the history of Malta, Malta was ruled by the Byzantine Empire from the fifth century a.d. to the eighth century AD, but later went under the control of Arab Muslims. Islam dominated this point during the Muslim rule, but this dominance came to an end when Muslims liberated the area by the end of the tenth century and took the path back to Arabia.  With this, Christianity returned again, and over the course of the next two centuries, the Muslim existence departed from this area.


For some time, Spain declared the island as its property. But in 1798 Napoleon captured it. It was not, yet, fifteen years since his government was abolished by Britain in 1814 and given it the status of a British colony. In 1956, The United Kingdom did not give complete freedom while taking its eyes off. After eight consecutive years of struggle, on September 21, 1964, this nation gained complete independence.

And after the 13december 1974 conflict, the country came to be known worldwide as the Republic of Malta.

Malta way of Revenue 

Before independence, the country way of revenue earning from the sale of cotton and drugs from other countries. But in current, Malta's revenue depends on Limestone. At the same time, it collects taxes for tourism and other countries to trade with their ports. This government gives the locations for the film production to Hollywood on the rent. The first foreign film to be made in Malta was Sons of the Sea.

Malta is the only country in Europe where Sami language is spoken. The Sami language is Arabic in style. And it came in to existence from a collection of Arabic, Hebrew and other languages. The 200-year rule of Arab Muslims has left its color on the country. In Malta, names like Lamedina, Island, Al-Kabira are heard.

Malta's national language is Malta, in which, like Arabic, it is called lam only instead of ALF lam. English is the most spoken language after Malta.

It also has the honour of being the national language of Malta. The capital of Malta is Valletta. The total area of this city is 0.8 square kilometers. Malta consists of three large islands. On 1may 2004 Malta becomes permanent members of the European Union.


There are a total of 365 churches in Malta and there is only one mosque called Masjid Maryam Batul. Malta has very few Muslims, mostly foreigners. In terms of religions, Christianity is the national religion of this country. Ninety percent of the country's population belongs to Christianity, 2% are Muslims, while the remaining eight percent belong to other religions. 


Football is the most and most eagerly played game in Malta. And football is what Malta's national sport is. Apart from football, water polo, rugby, race, and boxing are the games played with passion in this country. Malta's currency is called euro. Before January 1, 2008, the Multi Lira was used as currency in Malta. Malta has fourteen official holidays every year, the highest in the whole of Europe. Malta's calling code is +356. In Malta, free Wi-Fi hotspot is set up by communications authority at free-way, which are totally free for tourists as well as locals.
